Suzanne Curtis ASID is the owner of a full service residential interior design firm that serves clients in the metropolitan New York/New Jersey area, and in their second homes from Maine to Florida. She is a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers, and is certified by the National Council for Interior Design Qualifications. Suzanne has received the Award for Design Excellence from the New Jersey chapter of ASID, and her work has been featured many times in local and national magazines. Books featuring her work include The Smart Approach to Window Décor, The Smart Approach to Kid’s Rooms, and Designed in New Jersey—an Exquisite Collection of New Jersey’s Finest Designers.
As founder of Suzanne Curtis Interior Design, Suzanne approaches her craft with the belief that a room has been perfected only when the last accessory is in place. She builds a room’s design layer by layer, incorporating the principles of good design with each step. Her meticulous attention to detail and careful selection of materials ensure that all of the little things come together to create not just an inviting design, but one that reflects her client’s tastes.
“I get many of my design inspirations from my clients,” she says, “and I like to be challenged by their wishes and desires. They may have a favorite piece or a special fabric, a rug or a painting that can serve as a focal point.” During her initial meetings with clients Suzanne quickly develops a good idea of their preferences. She listens closely to her clients’ ideas to assess their needs and to help them visualize their new space. Together they work to interpret those needs into designs that satisfy their requirements and lifestyles. “It’s wonderful to be able to help my clients realize the dreams they have for their homes.”
In business for over twenty years, Suzanne has developed an outstanding network of suppliers, contractors, woodworkers, painters, paper hangers, upholsterers, and window treatment workrooms. She is also happy to work with her client’s own professional favorites.
